Artificial intelligence will be among the primary topics of discussion at the Swiss Internet Governance Forum (Swiss IGF) on 13 June 2023. As in previous years, the public could once again suggest topics for this eighth edition of the event. In addition to artificial intelligence, proposals included the power of platforms, disinformation, digital participation and the future of data-driven societies and economies.
2023-05-23 09:45:19The Swiss Internet Governance Forum (Swiss IGF) will discuss artificial intelligence on 13 June 2023. The public submitted proposals for topics, including the power of platforms, disinformation, and digital participation.
Artificial intelligence will be the focus, including its use and impact on the quality of information, and Parliamentarians will lead a session on its regulation. Other topics include digital governance of platforms, fundamental rights in the digital age, data policy, opinion forming, and the metaverse.
The forum will be held in Bern and online, with a document adopted for the European and global IGF. The Swiss IGF is a national spin-off from the UN Internet Governance Forum, bringing together public administration, politics, business, science, and civil society.
Young people will also discuss digitalisation issues at the first Swiss Youth IGF on 12 June. Participation is free and open to all, with simultaneous interpreting available.
